The first ever “Showdown by the Shore”, was an incredible success. The goal of the night was simple: to prepare young adults for the antizionism they will face on college campuses and to sharpen their Israel advocacy skills and confidence. We accomplished this through young adult mock debates, discussing many of the key issues that are brought up in the classrooms of universities and on social media. A big thank you to our MC Rabbi Joey Soffer, keynote speaker- Israel advocate Hussein Aboubakr, our young adult panelists (graduates from Barkai Yeshiva, Hillel Yeshiva, Magen David Yeshivah, Ramaz, and Yeshivah of Flatbush) who spent hours preparing and to Mr. Irving Safdieh, Mrs. Rena Nasar First of StandWithUs, Mrs. Esther Tokayer and Rabbi Joseph Mizrachi- whose guidance to the teams were invaluable, SCA Young Adult Director Aaron Shasha for spearheading the event and our caterer Prept by Ray T for a delicious BBQ!
