Stanley I Chera was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1942 in the Syrian-Sephardic Community. He attended Lincoln High School for a few years but was forced to drop out to run his fathers retail store. He went on to build “Young World”, a fairy sizable retail business. He later founded “Crown Acquisitions”, a commercial Real Estate investment company with holdings throughout the United States and Europe and was named by President Donald J. Trump as “one of the most brilliant minds in Real Estate”.
In addition to being a founding member of the Sephardic Community Center & the Sephardic Community Alliance, Stanley has taken a strong position in the founding and supporting of countless organizations including Magen David Yeshivah, Sephardic Bikur Holim, Hatzalah, SAFE Foundation, The Special Children’s Center, UJA Federation of NY and the Rabin Medical Center in Israel. He was also very well known for supporting many local synagogues and schools.
Stanley was deeply involved in politics for the betterment of America, the Jewish People and of course the State of Israel. He worked tirelessly his entire life on that mission and even more so in his later years.
Stanley was a businessman, a philanthropist, a proud Jew and an even prouder patriarch of his crown jewel- his family. He spent endless hours ensuring his connection with his wife Cookie, his children Ikey, Haim & Richard, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He loved his community, cigars and music but most of all, he loved life. Stanley passed away on April 10th, 2020.
